The Stewards of Children: Darkness to Light training teaches how to prevent, recognize, and report child sexual abuse. Darkness to Light training is led by a trained facilitator in a group setting and is offered in both English & Spanish sessions. The training implements testimonies from survivors and experts to help inform and prevent sexual abuse. If interested in completing the D2L training, please complete the training request form and email Amanda@hhcac.org or contact her at 432-333-5233.
Since starting the Darkness to Light Training in 2012 Harmony Home CAC has been able to train and educate thousands of adults and continues to train almost 800 adults yearly! Our goal is to prevent Child Sexual Abuse and this is a huge step in helping adults understand the importance of recognizing, reacting, and reporting child sexual abuse. Thanks to local funding by United Way of Odessa we are able to offer this training for free to all adults.

DownloadOrganizations that train their staff and volunteers create an environment that better protect children. Perpetrators are drawn to places where they can have easy access to children. An organization that emphasizes prevention through training and appropriate polices is an unwelcoming place for a perpetrator. Training increases staff and volunteer awareness that teaches them to recognize the signs that an opportunity exists for abuse to occur, and the signs that abuse has occurred. It is also critical that staff and volunteers know how to react if they recognize the signs or if a child discloses abuse.
Your support of Harmony Home and our mission of Together... Breaking the Silence... Healing the Hurt means the world to the children we serve each and every day! We appreciate your support and dedication.
